Luna’s story begins when her Mom & Dad decided to divorce. Luna stayed with Mom, her daughter, and a cockatiel. They moved to Illinois to start anew. Shortly thereafter, Grandma came to live with them, as well as Grandma’s caretaker. Luna began to get less and less attention and that is when the Refuge was contacted. Luna has been with the Refuge for some time now and it has taken Rich almost 8 months to get Luna comfortable with him. While Luna does not readily step up, she adores taking showers. Lentils are a favorite food, as well as nuts, rice, and especially banana *with* the peel on. She prefers preening toys and toys with wood in them. Luna does not get along with other birds, is scared of teenagers, and was born in Georgia. With enough love and patience, Luna will be a steadfast companion. She takes a while to get comfortable with new people so expect to go slow to get Luna to trust, but once she trusts you, you will find no stronger bond.
