Help Make A Difference

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at A Refuge for Saving the Wildlife. We rely on volunteers to support our mission and operations every day. You can be a part of our life-saving work. By choosing to volunteer your time and talents, you are helping to make a difference to all the parrots housed here. Whether caring for parrots, managing operations, or cleaning, volunteers are the key to our success. There are many ways you can help out at A Refuge for Saving the Wildlife. Continue reading below to find out how!

  • How do I become a volunteer? +

The first step is to fill out a volunteer application.
  • Can my child(ren) volunteer with me? +

We welcome children to volunteer with their parents. However, we do not allow children under the age of 11 to interact with our parrots.
  • Is there an age limit to volunteer? +

We welcome everyone 12 and over to volunteer. However, if you are under the driving age, you must volunteer with a parent. Being a volunteer bears a lot of responsibility for our parrots, and for your own well-being. We cannot monitor children 24/7, since we have responsibilities of our own.
  • I would like to volunteer, but what if I don't have any experience with birds? +

We are happy to show you the ropes to becoming an experienced bird caretaker!
