Rico

Linc has gone to his new home on Saturday, 3/21/2008. Good luck, Rico! (his new name by his new humans.)

Linc had come to the Refuge on Wednesday, 12/5/2007 under a fanfare. Animal Care and Control brought him to the Refuge under the cameras of ABC News and we all saw him being brought in. We didn't know much about him at this time, but attempted to find out more. Linc was pretty scared and shy at this time. He seemed to prefer women and took nuts when offered to him. He was good condition and loved the food we provided him. We are worked with him to calm him and to show him that he was safe.

Update from Rico's new family - August 7, 2008: He is very happy - eats well and sings and dances. He even says hello! He still won't step up and is so afraid to be touched, but we keep trying. I'm so sorry that you were not able to get background info on him. It may have helped us overcome his fears. He is an old guy - sometimes his legs seem so stiff, but as I said he is happy and we are happy that he lives with us.

Our Mission is Simple

To work in joint cooperation with all avian rescue groups to try and eliminate the need for rescue groups by educating the public about aviculture issues. Until that is accomplished, we will provide a sanctuary for those unfortunate parrots that are in need of a home.
