I was found too. When I came to the refuge I was timid and a little scared. I loved to whistle with the volunteers and am a happy little bird. I love to sit on top of my cage, but am still scared to be touched. I do go back inside when asked.
Update from Missy's new home: I recently adopted a cockatiel from a Refuge For Saving the Wildlife. I appreciated how thorough Richard and Karen were with the application because that meant they were serious about finding proper homes and they are truly caring. The home visit was nice and casual and gave us an opportunity to become more acquainted. Upon arriving at the refuge to pick up my new bird I was impressed and moved to see Richard's house converted to accommodate so many parrots. His dedication and knowledge are inspirational and I hope anyone who is serious about owning a companion bird would take the time to adopt from him.
